Most of the clients that come through the doors at Alloy Personal Training Center have the same goal in mind stated in many different ways. Lose body fat, tone up, increase muscle mass, and lose some weight are just the tip of the iceberg. We are used to hearing just about everything and have become pretty good at helping people reach their goals if I do say so myself.
In large part, these goals are accomplished by developing and following a balanced health and fitness routine with much of the priority placed on maintaining good nutritional habits. We do understand that this is all much easier said than done by our over stimulated, always on the go world that we live in. Staying on the perfect dietary path toward your goals is a daunting task.
At the same time we’ve all probably heard the saying, “Cheaters never win and winners never cheat.” When it comes to nutrition I completely disagree. If we could simply set a client up with a great nutritional plan and they never stray one bit life would be awesome! Unfortunately that is just not how it works for ANY of us. We may eat well for a while but from time to time we slip up and resort to consuming and item or even a meal that we know we should avoid but falter nonetheless.
I think that we should allow ourselves to have cheat meals or items as rewards for all of the hard work that we put in. If you are allowing yourself a sensible reward from time to time then you avoid beating yourself up when you fall off of the wagon once with no plan in place for how to get back on. Oh yeah, the other popular saying is, “If you are not cheating you are not trying.” There may be some truth to that.
