After eight months and a combined weight loss of 70 pounds, Andy Glover and Jay Vignale have the same problem that motivated them back in March—they still don’t fit into their clothes. Fortunately, this time, it’s for much better reasons. “I lost 40 lbs., 6” in my waist, and went from 25% body fat to around 8%” says Andy. Jay had similar results losing 30 lbs. and dropping from 21% to 8% body fat. Both friends credit their NPPT trainer, Joe Rummell, with keeping them motivated.

A key factor in Andy and Jay’s success was learning about nutrition. They had tried the “no carb” diet and had great results initially losing 14 lbs. in 2 weeks, but they quickly burned out on such a rigid plan. “We eat out daily for lunch, so we needed help with food choices that were doable.” Both Jay and Andy stress that when you are trying to lose weight, you cannot assume that you are eating properly. “You have to listen to the people who know what they are talking about. Rick, Joe, and the team at NPPT are those people.” By focusing on how many calories they were eating and burning, the two found a workable plan for losing weight. Andy added, “If I got stuck at a certain weight, Joe would help me alter my diet and workout in order to reach my next goal.”

Jay’s Workout Schedule

Weight training – 3 days a week
Cardio (running approx. 3 miles) – 4 to 5 times a week

Jay’s Secret to Success

“I don’t recommend starting something like this during the holidays. And remember, when you start to see success, don’t stop!”

Andy’s Secret to Success

Working out at NPPT 3 times a week kept him on track, as well as having a partner. “It’s a lot easier when you are doing this with someone else. If one of us is having a bad day and not wanting to workout, the other is there for support.
