The stability ball rollout is an awesome exercise that can strengthen your core at a much deeper level than a crunch or sit up can do. It is also a much safer exercise because your goal is to resist movement as opposed to a crunch or sit-up that puts you into spinal flexion.
Stability Ball Rollout Instructions:
- Start in a plank position on the stability ball
- Engage core, glutes and quads
- While everything is engaged extend your elbows out away from you (the further you go the harder it will be)
- Return to starting position
Stability Ball Rollout Cues:
- Neutral spine
- Shoulders down and back
- Core engaged
- Glutes engaged
